چکیده
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of one in-office and two home bleaching agents on the surface roughness of a hybrid, microhybrid and nanohybrid composite resin. Three composite resins (Valux Plus, 3M ESPE, Filtek Z 250, 3M ESPE, and Herculite XRV Ultra, Kerr) and three bleaching agents (Opalescence PF, Ultradent Products, Perfect Bleach, Voco, and Perfect BleachOffice +, Voco) were chosen for this study. Twenty eight samples of each composite resin were prepared and were equally split in 4 groups: 7 samples were stored in distilled water (control group), 7 samples were subject to 17% carbamide peroxide gel (Perfect Bleach) action for 3 h a day, 7 days, 7 samples were subject to 15% carbamide peroxide gel (Opalescence PF) action for 3 h a day, 7 days and 7 samples were subject to 35% hydrogen peroxide gel (Perfect BleachOffice +) action two times for 15 min . After cleaning the samples were submitted to roughness evaluation using atomic force microscopy (AFM). Bleaching agents that contain 35% hydrogen peroxide and 17% or 15% carbamide peroxide increased the composite resins surface roughness. The hybrid resin recorded the highest roughness after bleaching, followed in descending order by microhybrid and nanohybrid composite resins.

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to evaluate effects of different polishing methods and whitening agents on surface hardness and roughness of nano-hybrid composite resin. MATERIAL AND METHODS In total, one hundred twenty disc-shaped specimens were prepared to nano-hybrid composite (Charisma Diamond). 60 samples were used for microhardness measurements and the others were used for the eval...

OBJECTIVE Bleaching agents may not be safe for dental materials. The purpose of this in-vitro study was to evaluate the effects of Opalescent Quick "in-office bleaching gel" containing 35% carbamide peroxide on the surface roughness and hardness of microfilled (Heliomolar) and hybride (Spectrum TPH) composite resins. MATERIALS AND METHODS Twenty specimens of Spectrum TPH composite resins and ...

Background and Aim: Nowadays, demand for same–color restorative materials, especially resin composites, is increasing. Access to the smooth surface with minimum level of surface roughness significantly results in more beauty, and the reduction of the accumulation of the plaque, gingival inflammation, and tooth discoloration. the aim of this study was surface roughness of three different composi...

Introduction: Bleaching treatments may negatively affect the surface quality of composite restorations existing in the mouth. This study sought to assess the effect of 16% and 35% carbamide peroxide on microhardness of silorane-based versus two methacrylate-based composite resins. Methods: A total of 54 discs were fabricated from FiltekP90 (P90), FiltekZ350XT(Z350) Enamel and Filtek Z250(Z25...
